Have you ever heard of an alchemist? Well basically, they were people
in history who claimed to be able to transform lead into gold. Now
whether is is true or not, I have no clue, but I think there is some
dope symbolism there.

I think that as hip hop artists we are somewhat modern day alchemists.

Instead of turning lead into gold we turn
suffering into joy. We take painful experiences and turn them into
beautiful music.

Now that definitely puts a different perspective on things.

Because we cannot choose what happens, but
we can choose how we respond to what happens.

By choosing to respond to a threat with courage instead of anger.
By choosing to respond to an attack with poise instead of defensiveness.
By choosing to write hit record instead of losing our heads.

That's how we transform lead into gold.
